Online payment methods - avoid charges
Does this scenario sound familiar?
- I have a business and wish to get in to online sales via an e-commerce system.
- I want to avoid paying monthly fees and transaction charges to companies such as Realex - until I know I have a viable web business.
- I don't know how much I will make through an online store.
- I don't think Paypal is a viable option as many Irish consumers dont have a credit card or Paypal account (and I incur a 2.9% transaction fee).
How it works.
A customer goes onto your e-commerce system adds some items to their cart then goes to checkout.
At this point they either register or use their existing login.
When they are ready to pay they now have the option of Paypal (if they have an account or credit card) or Bank Transfer
The solution?
Why not use direct bank transfer?
they select Bank transfer.
They are presented with all the neccessary details sort code / account number IBAN and BIC
They are also given a unique reference number for the transaction, and you can specify the date by which your account must be credited before you ship the product.
The advantages
- No transaction fees
- You still have the power of an e-commerce system
- Security
If you have an existing e-commerce system or are thinking about developing on it is an excellent method of getting paid!
