IRELAND has one of the lowest levels of credit card ownership in Europe.
Figures compiled by market analysts Datamonitor found the average Irish adult carries 1.2 payment cards in their wallet and just 0.7 credit cards.

This compares to Britain where adults carry an average of 2.8 payment cards which include debit cards - more than any other country in Europe.
